Axial III Plasma Spray Torch

- Published Date

The Axial III Plasma Spray Torch is a three anode – three cathode plasma torch with axial injection feed of the powder. The plasma streams converge at a point where the powder is injected. At this point, the plasma / powder flow is accelerated through the nozzle. The shape of the converging plasma flow, coupled with the design of the nozzle, allows the powder to flow through the nozzle without touching the nozzle itself. Powder velocities are significant higher than standard plasma devices and approach velocities attained with HVOF. The resulting coatings produced by Axial III are consistent, reproducible and of extreme high quality.
The Axial III Plasma Spray Torch utilizes three gases: Argon, Nitrogen, and Hydrogen (Hydrogen can be substituted with Helium). The Axial III can operate using either Argon or Nitrogen as a primary gas.
Axial III Plasma Spray Torches come with or without a shroud. The shroud design produces near vacuum quality coatings and is effective in preventing oxygen stringer formation when spraying reactive metals.
