Axial III System
- Details
- Published Date
Mettech's Axial III System is a complete, highly efficient plasma spray system, where powders, suspensions or precursors are injected into the centre of the torch and deposited on the substrate. Mettech's Axial III System is a field-proven plasma spray product for both conventional industrial coatings and high-performance applications such as graded coatings, reactive metal spraying, high temperature ceramics and spray forming.
Mettech's Axial III System includes:
- Axial III Plasma Torch
- control interfaces (e.g. control cabinets)
- user interfaces (e.g. touch screens)
- power supplies
- supportive infrastructure including integration of gas and water supplies, robotics and spray booth
Mettech's systems can also include powder feed supply solutions.
Cost-Saving Multi-Application Technology
Mettech's Axial III System has significant higher deposition efficiencies, higher spray rates, better coating quality, and better control of coating properties than many other competing solutions.
Mettech's spray technology provides a wide spectrum of applications, where the same "tool" can be used for a wide variety of applications, from ceramics and carbides to plastics, and reactive metal spraying, blended coatings and graded coatings.
The Axial III System can save between 50-80% on both powder and operating costs, while still allowing full diversity of coating applications.
Key Benefits
- low angle spraying down to 15o
- able to spray powders <10 microns
- sprays powders and slurries
- no separation of powders or mixed powders in the flame
- no deflection from torch axis
- increased process stability
- powder injection rate and carrier gas are independent of plasma flow
- higher deposition efficiencies
- increased coating integrity
- significant savings on powder costs and operations
Control Equipment
The Axial III System includes computer-control systems able to store and track sequence data of coating processes. The operator selects the corresponding data from the 'Powder' menu and is guided through the process of applying the coating. The System comes with touch screen monitors, able to display complete process variables, operations and spray data trends, and full data recording capabilities. The control systems also have the ability to run parametric databases and include self-diagnostic tools.
The Axial III System's control cabinets include mass flow controllers, process feedback controls, gas pressure transducers, and water flow / temperature measurement systems to measure and control system heat balance. There is full segregation between water / gas, mass flow controllers (MFC) and electrical process controllers (PCL), and all are CE marked.
